Wales internationals Simon Davies and Robbie Earnshaw of Spurs and WBA respectively were both used as substitutes that day. Davies came on for Robbie Keane at half time and helped change the complexion of the tie after the Irishman had tucked away a penalty to level the scores just before the interval.
Since Earnshaw’s £3m move from Cardiff City the striker has scored ten Premiership goals, the same total as Keane, who just needs one more to break his record for last season.
"Earnie's done well for West Brom – he has always been very dangerous in front of goal and doesn't miss too many chances," said Davies.
Despite a good return of goals Earnshaw has still only made 15 starts - but manager Bryan Robson has stated that he will need to rotate his other in-form strikers, Geoff Horsfield and Kevin Campbell - in what is bound to be a tense end of season for the Baggies, starting at White Hart Lane tonight.
