Dalmat refuses to take the plaudits

Stephane Dalmat has knocked back all the praise that he has receieved after his dazzling performance against Birmingham last night. The Frenchman set Spurs on their way to a 4-1 victory with two goals inside the first half-hour and an all round display of skill and hard work, the latter being something he was criticised for not doing in recent weeks. However, Dalmat, on loan from Inter Milan until the end of season was quick to point out that "it was very important to win because we have had complications in the league".

He also added that he was extremely pleased with his own performance, but cotinued to play down his role in the victory adding that "For me it is just important that the team wins. After, if I have played very well or no good, it is not so important. Tottenham winning is all that matters to me. I am very happy with how things are going for me here, I have had a problem with my back, but that is okay."

Spurs fans will be hoping that the end of his loan deal will not be the end of his time at White Hart Lane, and with skills such as his back-hell to beat three men and magical side-steps, the Spurs money-men must surely be alerted.
