Carr wants European football

The Republic of Ireland international right-back, who is said to be interesting Arsenal and Newcastle, still has two years of his current contract to run but has expressed his desire to be playing at a club involved in European competition.

"I have two years left on my contract and who knows what could happen," he said.

"I don't think we can look at qualifying for the Champions League next season, we're not even in Europe.

"We need to progress and hopefully get the last UEFA Cup spot. There are a lot of clubs scrapping for that place and we'll need to be among them."
