Becks backs Defoe to go...

Jermain Defoe has received his biggest boost as he strives for a spot in Englan'ds Euro 2004 squad, from the man who will lead the nation onto the the big stage. Captain David Beckham has stated his belief that Defoe is the cream of the young British crop and should be strongly considered my Sven Goran Eriksson. He said, '"Jermain Defoe is doing very well at Tottenham and has been scoring a lot of goals...he has got a lot of talent and is capable of playing at the highest level". Praise enough, and if he keeps scoring, he cannot be ignored.
