The right-back was a first-team regular last term, but has been edged out of contention thanks to the excellent form of England youngster Kyle Walker this season.

Manager Harry Redknapp will also be at Southwark Crown Court all day answering two charges of cheating the public revenue. Redknapp, who denies both charges, is expected to travel to White Hart Lane tonight after the day's proceedings end, and take charge of Spurs for the Wigan game.
