The Cameroon international centre-back left the Stamford Bridge field with his neck in a brace following a tussle with Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
However, the club have confirmed that following medical tests, Bassong's injury is not as bad as first feared.
"Sebastien Bassong was back at Spurs Lodge today (Monday) for further assessment after being given the all-clear by a head and neck consultant at a hospital on Sunday evening," a statement on the club's official website reads.
"The Cameroon international centre-half was stretchered off after suffering a head injury in the second half of our fixture against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge."
Ledley King was also forced to leave the field of play against Chelsea and the club have said that he is to undergo further tests on the hamstring injury he sustained during the 3-0 defeat.
