The Wales international full-back, who underwent surgery to repair a medial meniscal tear on his left knee in June, played the full ninety minutes of the match at the Tottenham training ground as did goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
"Gareth was involved as he is coming back from injury and we wanted to get a game into him and one or two of the lads played, including Gomes and he was fine," Spurs boss Harry Redknapp told the club's official website.
