It has been reported in several of todays newspapers that the club expect to complete the signings of Welsh 'wonderkid' Gareth Bale and French U-21 captain Younes Kaboul this week.
Bale, who has been the subject of intense media speculation after a fantastic season for club and country, is reported by The Times to be joining in a deal worth £10m, with the left back ready to spurn the advances of Manchester United and Arsenal to join Martin Jol's Tottenham. Kaboul, who has impressed with ferociously dogged defending for Auxerre, will join later this week in a deal worth over £6m. If Both deals will represent a massive signal of intent from Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board who do not seem content with the resting on the clubs second consecutive 5th placed finish.
It is reported that the Chairman has given Jol a transfer kitty of £30m to strengthen the side in a bid to challenge the top four clubs in the country. A left winger remains a priority with Middlesbrough's Stewart Downing, Atletico Madrid's Martin Petrov and Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen on Jol's wish list.
