Bony may play in the Dutch league for Vitesse but he has also played in Europe so he will be used to playing against different styles. Currently he has played 18 games and scored 16 goals in the league.
Currently he is away in the African Cup, but is mainly used as a substitute (he is back up to Drogba and Yaya Toure, so you can forgive him for that).
I have spent a fair bit of time in Holland recently and have got to watch Bony a little, but I have to say that I like what I see. I am not someone that believes in You Tube to assess a player! Bony is very strong (so will have no trouble holding up the ball), he is technically gifted with very quick feet, has great awareness of the players around him , but most importantly he knows where the goal is.
The reason I mention Weah and Yeboah is because his style is simliar to both. Both players were gifted in all of the above departments and went on to achieve great things with big clubs. As a club we are yet to attempt this "risk" (up front that is). Chelsea did it with Drogba (I do realise he came from France with a bigger reputation), but surely it is worth a try?
The dutch league has produced some great players and you do not have to go far back to see this, players are constantly brought in from Holland that go on to great things. Coupled with the fact that Bony is from a time when the Ivory Coast is producing its best talents and arguable the current No.1 African team.
Now if people are willing to take a risk on Hooper, then surely you would be happier taking a risk with Bony? I hate to say it and it still saddens me to, but the Scottish league is not what it used to be!
Again our moto fits in perfectly with purchasing Bony, To Dare is to Do!!!!
