Ok the guy is the Chairman of Tottenham which has a very proud Jewish heritage, but why is it that so many (supposed fans) feel that it is necessary to troll and abuse him publically.
101 Great Goals have written a piece that names and shames these people.
Ok so I am game for a laugh. My close friends and I will happily have some banter between ourselves at each other, but it’s because we know that there is no malice or hatred behind it all.
So why do so many people feel that it is necessary or acceptable to?
This all stems from the reports from Marca that have spread like wild fire and instigated further stories that are simply re-spun.
Do I think we should sell Bale? No. Will I be disgusted if it turns out that the rumours are true? Yes, but that doesn’t mean I will take to Twitter etc to build a gang and barrage of slander etc.
I have written pieces in the past to show that I am against the darker sides of football. I do not wish for our nation to continue with its bad reputation of thugs and troublemakers.
When our fans were attacked in Italy and Lyon’s Chairman took to calling all English people names I said my piece, I complained and got a very ignorant communication back from UEFA. Yes they CONDONED what the Lyon Chairman said as an acceptable joke, but a joke can be interrupted in a number of ways. Like many others I was offended and deemed it as a racist comment that deserved an apolgy. Here is the response from my email to Gasser Patrick at UEFA;
“With regards to the alleged racial abuse you mention, we have also looked into this with particular attention and found one comment which could be considered as inappropriate, but that clearly cannot be labelled as racist. Mr. Aulas uses the word “rosbif”, which is the humourous noun used by French people to refer to Englishmen. We hereby want to stress the notion of “humourous”, as described in obth the Oxford Dictionary and the Larousse dictionary, to name just the two dictionaries of reference in the English and French languages.”
So as you can see it is irrelevant that I was offended by the comments made and as always UEFA are simply there to appease and protect whom they see fit (never really the fans)
When individuals decide to comment publically they must understand the difference between jokes, their right to voice their opinion and what is wrong.
I will not re-publish what some of these individuals have tweeted as I do not wish to give them further exposure, but it has to stop!
A while back on Twitter I had tweeted something about Defoe, that he should be subbed off as his performance was bad (no swearing or serious comments made). I had included JD in the tweet. Swiftly I was reminded by someone what is the point? The player is unlikely to see, but it is better to support, positive re-enforcement! Again we must stand together not divided. I in turn swiftly apologised on Defoe’s account and to the individuals, but it is a typical case of not realising.
So is it that these people just don’t see it as wrong? Do they find it acceptable? Sometimes the likes of social media has let us down and shown are very primitive side which is sad, but I suppose it’s not something to easily control.
If Levy wishes to sell Bale for a world record fee it is down to Madrid if they wish to pay. Is he worth it? He is worth what someone is willing to pay. Is it a scandalous amount? Yes, but that is just the way football is going. It’s sad but true. People see football and violence as hand in hand and it’s up to us to remind ourselves and others, it’s about the game. It’s about team pride and supporting your team. Players and staff come and go, but our team remains the same. Respect your club, respect the players and respect each other!
