I am fed up of being linked with these players! I am not suggesting that they are not of a decent level. I think they are doing well at their current level and could make a step up.
We have missed out on several players and you have to ask what Levy is doing? Look at the players that are left and want to move.
This time next week we will be anxiously looking at the clock counting down the hours, minutes and seconds, but lets face it as it stands unless Levy has kept some big news “hush hush” than we will be looking at a squad no better than we have now!
Yes we could look at a cheap option, an option in Scotland, or someone in the lower leagues, but whether we can attract the types of players I would like to see at the club (well we landed Modric against the odds, signed VDV, Lloris, Vertonghen), then we will falter again. We cannot continue to place the blame on the players or manager. Players and managers have changed and if the trend doesn’t change this year it will be 100% that is our chairman that is to blame. Not that I don’t know it already!
The history of the club's form come this side of the year we begin to slow down and struggle against teams. We did well against Man Utd, but we have a big months in March and April and we cannot expect our players to keep the high tempo up without a rest.
We MUST get out there quickly and now, look at who everyone else is signing! Newcastle has signed Haidara and Sissoko today alone, let alone the rest of their signings. Whether or not we would want them is irrelevant we need players and now.
For your own sake Levy just bite that bullet and buy these players before we begin to fall!
