As it stands the club have seemingly lost time on the transfer market with no current signings to date, being linked with a good player in Vertonghen and 1 squad player (at best) in Sigurdsson, with the likes of our rivals taking care of business early with the signings of Kagawa, Hazard, Giroud, Podolski (and so on) already snapped up.
So the questions that have been there for weeks now are still unanswered. A new manager is imperative and the delay tactics show 1 of 2 things. Either Levy is wasting time negotiating over penny's (AGAIN!) or We are nowhere near appointing a manager. Reports of AVB coming in were based on the whole issue of AVB's supposed 1st July clause etc. If this was the case AVB would have been announced yesterday and the simple case is he wasn't.
Whichever way you look at this the delays are a bad thing. The only information again that is coming out is pointless communications on the kits (which we already knew about), Jordan and Bond leaving (which we knew about) and this is it. Whether the board are on holiday or just dragging their heels this is unacceptable behaviour and proof that they are over paid. Fans were quick to shout that Redknapp should be gone and that Levy is king, but look at where we are now. May as well be bottom of the league when Redknapp joined us many years ago, the position Levy currently has us in is highly precarious AT BEST.
Every season we are linked with high profile transfers (which never happen) and it will continue for the foreseeable future. Levy has not supported the team financially for at least 18 months (and now it is too late to spend cheap to catch up), we will have to spend much more in wages and fee's to catch up with the 4 teams we want to finish above (City, Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea) as currently they are miles ahead. If Levy goes another week without a manager I hope that these deluded Levy fans realise what is going on.
I love my club (no matter who is in charge or who is playing), but these situations should and can be easily avoided. Questions over a takeover are still rife on the rumour sites and now its even being stated that there is an investment coming into the club (for the middle east ... AGAIN). All the rumours are a concern as the club remain very tight lipped over anything currently happening at White Hart Lane, other than staff and players leaving. If the club were still on the market we would be in a much better position as the shareholders would need to know the status
If the board have any business sense they will make an appointment sharply and dive straight into the market to strengthen the side with enough time for the new staff to gel and adapt to the new managers tactics and style.
Levy you need to sort this big mess out that you have created and quickly
