Mario Gomez is to move to Fiorentina! A player that has scored 112 goals in 172 games for Bayern and his initial fee was just £13million!
Well that is a royal mess if I have ever seen one.
It was thought that Gomez would head to a team with Champions League football, however he has chosen Fiorentina, who just scraped into the qualifiers of the Europa League?
Now this is without a doubt a big loss in my opinion. A German international, Champions League experience, a goal scorer in any situation and he went to Fiorentina?
The player himself stated that he preferred Italy to Spain, but no mention of England (so you have to assume that no one from England put in a bid).
Oh well another target down and the pickings are really getting smaller and smaller. Damiao is likely to join Napoli to replace the outward-bound Cavani, so it really only leaves Soldado and Benteke as potential available options (unless we go for unheard of talent).
It is getting frustrating again folks we need 2 strikers and we have tied up a deal with a midfielder. I certainly do not mean any disrespect for Paulinho (as he is a massive acquisition), but we are running out of options and quick.
Come on Baldini force those tight fists of Levy open and get in those much needed strikers!
