WBA have been fantastic under Steve Clarke this season and have proved to be a difficult team with some notable results. So a pat on the back for the win is deserved!
Bale's goal was another corker and he has now secured himself as our top goal scorer in the EPL with 11 goals (his total tally for last season) and 5th on the EPL top goal scorers.
The midfield had looked a little questionable, but with Holtby's introduction we looked very solid (as we had in the previous game). So there is a turn for the good right there.
The defence looked reasonably solid, but up front we lacked again. So all in all yep a good result, a deserved win, but still felt a little lucky (would Popov been sent off by another ref?).
We are now a mesely1 point off of third and that will certainly boost the team’s confidence, I just hope that we can keep pushing on and take our run beyond Newcastle (who have come good following their large and wise investments).
So many positives to take from the game, but the injury to JD clouds a lot of the result and the individual performances (sorry for sounding like McClaren there guys).
We must keep behind the guys though; as a team they have done well and deserve their position and I wish them all the luck that it stays that way (at least).
