Lennon to Inter! So the papers are probably going to say that Lennon was invited to the game by Inter so that they could speak to him about joining them! Hang on a minute.... doesn't he play for Tottenham? It’s a joke really! Inter are reportedly in for Lennon as the cheap version of Gareth Bale? Interesting that as they are 2 completely different types of players! Lennon is a runner and supplier, Bale is a game controller and winner. Couldn't be further apart in terms of being compared.
Lennon in terms of performance; he has had the most consistent season to date (in my opinion), and once again it's a testament to AVB. I can see again why other clubs are interested in him, but I can't see him leaving Tottenham full stop (let alone a club that is on a land slide). Lennon is the type of player to stay from what I feel, he loves London, has made the right slot his own and the fans love him (why would you leave).
Next up Christian Eriksen. We have been linked with 2 Ajax players and Eriksen is another of those constant links (however there has never been any true confirmation on this). Let's judge this on common sense then. Eriksen plays as a support/ attacking midfielder (the role Bale and Dembele have made their own). The player will cost north of £15million and the only link seems to be the tenuous one of "he is Vertonghen's ex-team mate"! If you ask me we may be looking for a left midfielder come the summer as Bale moves inside. So although Eriksen is a good player we bought Holtby so I think that has the rumor's going down like a lead balloon.
Bruno Martins is the final talking point. A defender that can operate as a left back or centre half? So basically we have another Vertonghen? Well thanks but no thanks. We have Vertonghen, Benni and Rose who can operate on the left. In the centre we have Dawson, Kaboul, Caulker and Vertonghen so why do we need this Bruno Martins? I think he could add depth to the squad, but if anything AVB will want to improve his starting 11 first (its common sense).
So ranting over all the transfer hopefully put to rest. Lets concentrate on the Europa League and Inter.
