Although loaning Townsend out was met with bad reception for some of the fans, I knew it would be a good idea. The player is similar to Lennon, but has a hell of a shot on him.
Having loaned so many of our fringe youth out we were always going to see if the ones with "potential" have what it takes to perform consistently and improve. Walker it worked well, but his form this season has come under great scrutiny, Naughton has been great but is not used enough (in my opinion) and now Townsend has been showcasing his skills with 2 goals in 5 games and a couple of assists to go with them.
With the games that Andros has been playing of recent it certainly shows that he will be another player to expect to see pushing through next season and potentially he is the player to be Lennon's backup.
It’s about time that we loan some more youth out. It was a shame that Pritchard was injured as he would have come on greatly at Peterbrough!
Eitherway it’s a sign of a great youth system with a flurry of great players coming through and seeing Andros looking so good gives me a lot of pride knowing that the league are seeing another youngster playing well that happens to be a Spurs man.
