Ok firstly I have a lot of respect for Defoe. He left the premier league at the right time and has since gone on to score 12 goals in 17 appearances.
However do we really believe that there is a return back to WHL?
With no offense to Jermain if we are to improve our squad and build a squad you do not go and buy a striker that will be 33 years old this year and spent the last year plying his trade in the MLS.
In all honesty we have missed far too many potential targets that play in a striking position to count. My biggest issue is that of Wilfried Bony! As you will remember before Swansea had sign the forward I made it quiet clear of the strikers attributes and how he would be able to transfer those successfully into the premier league. With 34 goals in 70 games it will tell you all you need to know (its exactly the type of player we have been crying out for). Pairing Kane or Soldado with this guy would see a vast improvement in our goals per games.
But back to the point of Defoe. His sharpness and pace will not be that of his previous stints at the club so we can safely say twist on Defoe bring on the next card!
