Looking at the facts we cannot question that a right back is needed (however I do question if this is the key area to spend).
Walker had a great first season after returning from a loan with Villa, however since then (as with a lot of Tottenham's promising stars) he has stuttered.
It is the same reason and it is a common mistake with the clubs history.
Walker has not had competition at right back and has become complacent. This is apparent in his performances with the occasional glimmer of why he went into the starting line up. Naughton is not as experienced or as accomplished as Walker, so it is of no surprise that he has not challenged for the right back spot. So the issue is and has been that there is zero competition.
Janmaat was linked with Spurs in January due to the Van Gaal link and although this has not changed following (Van Gaal agreeing to Utd's contract ) I do not expect this to go any further.
We are likely to be looking at the likes of Clyne from Southampton (which is a link as good as Janmaat if you ask me). At 23 he is young and looked accomplished for Southampton (who had the best defensive record for a large proportion of the season). The fact that he is English excites me further.
At the moment odds are not available, but as we come to the end of the month expect to see some bets being placed on his transfer.
