Tottenham Football Club has had strong ties with South Africa and have toured there in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Not to forget the ongoing partnership with SuperSport United, which has seen South Africa's captain Bongani Khumalo join the club.

Tottenham have also worked with SOS Children's Home (the world's largest orphan charity) to fund the construction and upkeep of an orphan house in Rustenburg for the past 6 years.

The coaches out there have helped produce some members of the clubs first teams squad (steven Caulker, Jake Livermore and Andros Townsend to name a few).

Mark Jones (Head of Tottenham's Global Coaching Programme) had this to say

"This is a fantastic partnership for the Club and we are looking forward to working with Investec to deliver these coaching courses across South Africa. The Club has a long association with South Africa and through our ongoing relationship with Supersport United we are aware of the huge amount of talent and passion for football that exists across the country. Our goal is to deliver the best learning environment possible to encourage and develop the skills and techniques of all those players that attend the courses, whatever their level."

Investec's head of marketing Janet Larsen has said that Investec is proud to be part of the initiative scheme with Tottenham to bring these countries elite coaching.

"This new partnership is an extension of an already strong relationship we have with Tottenham Hotspur. The development of talent, combined with a passionate team spirit, makes this a great association for Investec. This programme will be beneficial to young South African soccer players who will be exposed to a wealth of football talent and greats of the game who will share their skill and knowledge with these aspiring youngsters."

The first part of this course will be held in a Johannesburg school (St David's School) from 10th December, running for 4 days. Spurs legend and club ambassador Ledley King will also be on hand to offer his help and support.

Its nice to know that although there is a lot of crazy things going on in the world of football that it is still doing a lot of good in the world.

Come on you Spurs
