Tottenham 2-1 Sunderland: Fans reaction

Last updated : 17 January 2015 By Higgg

A result is great and even better when its a game that looked as if things were going south.

However still there is a HUGE underlying problem, which is an issue that we see with all the non homegrown talent.

Looking at all bar Kane and Lloris there is a fundamental problem within the squad and this is that there is a complete lack of respect for MoPo. His orders are simple, high tensity, constant pressure and a work rate that no other team can match. At Southampton this worked tremendously, but we are still yet to see this consistently from game to game and also consistently throughout a game.

I have to ask myself why though?

We hear pundits and ex players state that this has never been Spurs style, but to be honest that is NO EXCUSE. If a manager tells his group of players to play a certain way, you do it or get out! There is no excuse except that there is a complete lack of respect from the squad. We can see that Kane and the homegrown talent do this but we do not see it in the rest of the squad.

We need to do this as a team or we fail, as we did against Palace.

So although a win was great, although Eriksen came in at the right time with a good goal, I have to ask whether there is a squad issue or man management issue?

What are your thoughts though? Has MoPo got the squads respect? Are the players needing a quick reminder that they are just players or is it something else?

For me I would drop everyone of the players in our game against Sheffield as a reminder that they haven't work hard enough and must do so in order to get back in the squad let alone starting berths.
