We all were surprised to see Steve McManaman leave Liverpool and end up at Madrid.
None were as surprised as the makers of Soccer AM who in fact had a great weekly game to see if they could spot him anywhere near the pitch. To see that he has then spoke out that Bale should not pass up Madrid surprises me. One of the most memorable names to go to Madrid, be paid a fortune and do absolutely nothing other than picking up a pay cheque and watching his career drown away like the Sangria on the beaches of Benidorm.
Again I would like to know who Steve McManaman is to offer advice? He's not Welsh, never played for Spurs, doesn't even know Bale, so why comment? Its a big ploy as always and one I am sure Madrid paid him well for, but I really wish these hasbeen's just realised that their opinion doesn't count. You only have to look at who would take McManaman on his return to see how badly damaged his career was.
For me ignore this fool. Yes he was a professional, yes he played in a great Liverpool side and a star studded Madrid team, but he blew it all away for the money and got nothing for it in return.
Anyone that wishes to argue about McManaman (as he won some medals), anyone can do that sat on the bench!
