Should we bite the bullet with Holtby?

Last updated : 29 January 2013 By Hog

As its stands in 18 Bundesliga games Holtby has 4 goals and 7 assists. Our best playmaker (in assist terms) is Aaron Lennon with 3 goals 7 assists in 23 games.

So Holtby edges him there with a higher percentage, so what is the hold up?

It is reported that Levy has not come close enough to the supposed €1.6million that Schalke want. Inevitably it will be £1.5million that is agreed for the signing of Holtby and we all know that this would be fair negotiation between the two clubs.

How I see things happening is that Levy will wait until the fans are screaming for a new midfielder and then he will bring in Holtby as his cheap option and the fans will accept it for a while.

To respond to my own question I still believe it would be best to get him for free in the summer and buy in someone big now, as Levy is not going to do it he may as well grease me up now rather than making me wait to feel violated!

Holtby is a good addition and I hope for his sake if he comes in Jan he hits the ground running as there will be a lot of pressure on the "Lucky Lewis".
