However I would not believe these rumors folks.
Levy already had drafted and contacted potential candidates after the 6-0 loss. It is said that with the team unable to gel and struggling to recreate the free flowing football the fans are used to Levy set a plan in motion after the 6-0 loss to City.
Levy had a plan before he sacked Redknapp and it is the same for AVB.
Sherwood is the correct candidate to fill the "hot seat" on a temporary basis whilst Levy brings in his real target, but do not think that he will make the same mistake twice. Please remember that Sherwood has not had a management job, so it would be too much of a risk to bring him on board.
With the names at the club Levy cannot afford to concern his new signings by appointing a completely untested candidate.
The usual names will be thrown into the mix with Klinsmann, Capello, Hiddink, Laudrup, Hoddle and Pochettino. Personally I think you can count out Capello, Hiddink's agent said he won't go, Laudrup's agent said he was happy at Swansea and Pochettino is as big a risk as Sherwood (IMHO). So that would leave Klinsmann and Hoddle. The U.S. Soccer Federation has warned Levy off of their coach so that would likely be very expensive to appoint him
So this would only leave Hoddle. Ok thinking about this logically what has Hoddle achieved as a manager? As a player he was simply amazing, but we have to remember a great player doesn't make a good manager, look at Maradona.
Again we have to look elsewhere. People waste their time talking about silly appointments such as Ferguson, Phelan, Maradona, I wish people wouldn't waste their time on it as it will never happen. Especially do not take the word of newspaper outside of the UK that blatantly has nothing else to write about!
The search for a manager will have already happened under Levy and I can tell you it happened a while ago, but a lot of the names that are being suggested just won't come to anything. I think there is more of a chance of Redknapp coming back than most of the names mentioned.
