Yesterday many reports came out stating that Willian had done a medical in the afternoon and that an announcement was expected today. I can only imagine that all Spurs fans were dribbling at the prospect of landing this target.
But hang on just like buses another player is supposedly arriving.
Lamela's agent and father were supposedly in London yesterday, however the reports were off the mark as Sabbag (Lamela's agent) commented that he was still in Rome, but said to wait and see. It was in fact officials from Roma that were in London with a view of agreeing a fee. Supposedly this has been agreed and Lamela is keen on a move (after talks with Baldini), but we are still a fair way from siging the player. Again you have to question how reliable the reports are, one second its the agent and father in London, next minute it's Roma's officials
Ben Smith of the BBC commented that deals had been agreed for both players which sent Twitter into a frenzy, but it seems as if the Willian deal is the one due to be completed (whereas the Lamela one could be drawn out, especially with after reports of interest from Arsenal).
To land just one of those players is huge, especially after signing the likes Soldado, Paulinho, Capoue and Chadli. I find it difficult to believe and really have to stop myself from getting so excited, but with so many sources now showing these as both pretty much tied up it is really difficult.
Either way what a fantastic issue to have and we have achieved so much in this window already!
