That aside the only link that has been mentioned is that Madrid will try to sign him to stop us from getting him (all due to us not selling Bale to them). Well I know that Madrid are pathetic and stupid, but let's face it Madrid would never completely destroy their relationship with us (or they'ed never get Bale).
Baldini wanted Paulinho whilst he was at Roma, then before he joined Tottenham the news broke that we were in for Paulinho. This is no co-incidece, the player wants to join and both clubs have agreed a fee, the only thing that was left is the "when". According to reports coming out of the Corinthians camp they do not want to release the player until after their participation in the Recopa Sudamericana.
This may or may not be true, but nothing will be guaranteed until after the Confederations Cup ends this Sunday. This is the date that we expect to hear from Paulinho on his impending move to Tottenham. Let's face it his agent will handle the negotiations so its doesn't matter if Paulinho is playing or not. It is irrelevant if we get him at the beginning of July or toward the end of July (just as long as we get him).
So when this signing goes through I will be a lot more at ease, but then it will be nerve wracking times ahead for our search of a new striker.
