It’s that time of year again. Tomorrow Matthew I am going to be .... A Wigan Fan.
A happy face fresh from the win against Man City in the Cup final on Saturday I couldn't be happier. However isn't it Premier league survival that is more important? Oh yes, silly me. Ok not enjoying being a Wigan fan haha.
The Lactics see their game at the Emirates just as important (if not more important) than their cup final on Saturday. Arsenal have had a noticeably better recovery time from their last game, but I feel that it is the momentum that the Gunners will be missing.
Arsenal have been lucky in the previous games leading up to their game in hand against Wigan. Scraping a win against the season poor QPR, Scraping a draw against a Utd side that couldn’t be bothered and a further 2 game which they deserved nothing from (against Fulham and Everton). I am more surprised than a kid at Christmas that Arsenal had managed to gain points over those games. In their last 4 games Arsenal have not scored more than 1 goal and failed to score twice, however Wigan have failed to score more than 1 goal in one game out of the last four (but you can forgive them that, winning against Man City).
This same fixture came late last year at the Emirates and it was Wigan that walked away the winners with Di Santo and Gomez scoring. So history could be likely to repeat itself? I think so.
So I can't wait for this game tomorrow and when push comes to shove all I can see at best for Arsenal is 1 point tomorrow night followed by another against Newcastle and that will not be enough as I have every feeling that our last home game this season, our final game of the season, will see us taking all 3 points!
Lactics for a day eh, I never thought I would ever be happy wearing a light blue football shirt, but I would happily go out and buy one for tomorrow!
COYS and for tomorrow night COYW!!!!!
