Now when I say resurgence I of course do not mean from his Tottenham days, but from his Roma days.
Erik has been under intense pressure and following a full pre season Erik seems to have now found his feet in the league. Since the win against Sunderland Lamela’s performance has improved each game.
Earning 18 points against Sunderland, 27 against Palace and 40 against City.
Erik now finds himself in the Premier Leagues Top 10 midfielders on level points with Grealish (8th) & Wijnaldum (9th), but only 4 points behind Mata (based on the performance score from September).
So far this season Lamela has been awarded the Squawka Best Possession and Best Attack, which hopefully shows that the youngster may be about to rekindle his form that demanded a £30m move from Roma.
His shooting accuracy is something to that could be worked on (43%), however with 16 chances created and an 82% pass accuracy you can hope that Lamela will now begin to justify his spot in the team (forget his price tag, that was not his doing).
