I have heard nothing about this (it’s just me spit-balling here), but I think this may work (but as a backup).
Robbie has just come off of a great season with Galaxy scoring 22 goals in the season! That is the joint second most productive season he has had as a striker. If you couple his current form with the absence of Ade (who is likely to be missing for 2 - 4 weeks) it would be a match made in heaven (as a last resort).
Not only is Keane having a great season, but he is also just 3 goals off of getting into the Premier League top 10 all time goal scorers. So in my head let’s say we get 4-5 games from Robbie, he could get 3 goals and nip in above Jimmy Floyd and be in the top 10 all time scorers! That’s a win-win for all parties surely?
Now if this wasn't a sign I don’t know what is? But as I said it could be that this is actually the reason behind Keane's return, it might not, but I ask you this;
Would Robbie Keane be a viable short term option (if all else fails)? I think there is potential.
