It has been said by reporters, pundits and fans alike that Kane is the most prolific striker in the premier league. However it’s not entirely true.
Looking at the amount of minutes played versus goals scored Kane is in fact not the most prolific.
Player | Minutes | Goals | Goals per minute | Starts |
Sergio Aguero | 1413 | 16 | 88.31 | 17 |
Diego Costa | 1603 | 17 | 94.29 | 19 |
Harry Kane | 1431 | 13 | 110.08 | 15 |
Charlie Austin | 1914 | 13 | 137.23 | 22 |
Alexis Sanchez | 1831 | 12 | 152.58 | 21 |
Kane is 4 goals off 1st place Costa on 17, but joint third with Austin. However he is third in goals per minutes.
Where it gets interesting is if you look at goals in 2015. Across Europe’s top 5 leagues only Kane and Messi have managed 8 goals in 10 appearances. Higuain nor Neymar are close on 5 goals.
Kane is on 23 goals this season and I truly believe he could be the second highest goal scorer in Spurs Premier League history.
