He makes a mention that he made the wrong decision in leaving Chelsea for Liverpool, but then goes on to say that although he played for one of West ham's rivals he couldn't do it for Spurs?
His statment does not make sense. The rivallry between all London clubs is massive, so I cannot understand how he has made that choice? All I have to say Joe is Hindsight is a fantastic thing, but who says it would have been different at Tottenham, we had better players at the time (which I base on the fact that Joe had dropped following numerous "big" injuries).
Either way have a read about what he has said;
"I had seven great years at Chelsea but the club wanted to go in a certain direction and I wasn't involved. So I was left with two real options - Liverpool or Spurs.
"Spurs was probably the best option because they were offering me a five-year deal and it meant I could stay in familiar surroundings.
"But I just couldn't do it, I just couldn't see myself pulling that Spurs shirt over my head. With the rivalry between Spurs and West Ham and Chelsea, it felt a bit mercenary." Hang on Joe so what about the move from West Ham to Chelsea in the first place?
He joins another list of players that could and should of signed for Tottenham, but in my opinion the wrong choice was made by going to Chelsea.
Another mention on our competition in conjunction with ICONS.com. The Gareth Bale shirt comp is going down a screamer (much like the derby result). We have had hundreds of entrances and the competition will be running until 29th March so make sure that if you haven't entered that you do below;
