Fans meeting Soldado in the airport had confirmation he is off to Villarreal, however it was Erik Lamela that had confirmed the transfer.
The Spurs midfielder tweeted and swiftly removed:
"I enjoyed these two years that we share, I wish you well in your new club !! Good luck my friend !!,"
I realise that there is a lot of moaning Spurs fans out there that state they are happy to see the back of the striker, however I feel it is unfair (not unjust).
Soldado may have missed many “sitters” however enough was never done to build a team around a proven scorer.
Good Luck to the Spaniard I am certain we will see Soldado back to his best within a matter of games.
The pressure however is now on for MoPo to sort his squad out. Losing Soldado is a loss as now there is 1 striker in Kane. Berahino is needed more than ever and with this news breaking it will not help with negotiations.
