We are all aware that Hooper was released by Spurs at the age of 14, so there is some "connection" there, but it’s in the past.
Celtic, Tottenham or the player have failed to comment on these rumours so it could be that there is something there.
Reports state that AVB has sent people up to scout Hooper, but it is not this that has me wondering (as anyone can start that story from nothing). What is interesting is that other sources have commented that Celtic are making enquires for a replacement for Hooper.
Now if you are looking for a sign that Hooper is moving (not stating to Spurs), then this is a highly plausible one. Charlie Austin from Burnley is the man that Celtic are interested in to replace Hooper with!
Now it is said that Hooper would demand a £10million price tag and has performed in Europe (successfully), however Austin has a similar record for goals and may cost a fraction of the price and he is a taller player. Difference is that he is used to the England style of play. So would Celtics "replacement" in fact be a better option? Would you be happy with one of these strikers as our purchase to bring more goals to the team, or is it another fob off and panic buy?
Either way it is more comforting to see things start to surface again, but these dots are connected by me not a source, so who knows whether there is in fact any truth behind it!
