The transfer of Ade has gone quiet, whilst Villa look set to continue spending the money from the Benteke transfer.
Villa have already signed Rudy Gestede from Blackburn Rovers and Andre Ayew and now reports have come out that the ex Spurs star (now 34) is set to sign for Aston Villa.
If you then take into account that Villa already have Kozak and Agbonlahor as forwards you do not expect to see the Spurs front man make the expected move.
Talks were suggested to have resumed after stalling over wages and if the reports of Berbatov signing are true it would seem that the Ade transfer would be an expensive deal that is no longer needed.
What this means for Spurs is that they are left facing another year of paying the Togo international another £100,000 a week! Thats £5.2million for the year!
Not the news that Spurs fans were hoping for and it is likely to hinder the expected transfer dealings.
Spurs have shaved over £150,000 off the weekly wage bill with the sale of Chiriches, Capoue, Paulinho, Stambouli and Kaboul and the an extra £100,000 a week was truly needed.
If Spurs were looking to sign a big name this summer it is likely that this has now given Levy some serious thinking as the current signings would have accounted for at least £100,000 a week.
