After claiming every available award this year it is of no surprise that the stories have come out, it is of no surprise that Real "Tap'em Up" Madrid have been heavily linked to him and even less of a surprise that someone linked with Madrid has been sticking their horrible little beak in as well.
However as Bale said himself he is happy and everything in the papers and reports coming out about leaving is rumours that he pays no attention to.
Now AVB has officailly come out and stated as much.
"The information I have from the club that was mistakenly written about last week is that the player will remain here irrespective of Champions League qualification being achieved or not,"
"This is the information I shared with you all of the season. The more rewards, the more recognition the player has, the more media attention, but this club can only move forward by keeping hold of its players and next season for Tottenham, Gareth can be even more assertive.
"I would be extremely surprised (if he left this summer), but in football anything can happen. It is impossible to predict. This is the assurance I have from the club."
Villas-Boas had this to say about Zizou's comments;
"Whatever the price tag the player has doesn't matter to us because he is our player, he's a player we have to keep hold of for the remaining seasons to make sure we are to achieve our objectives."
"In the end, it is great for a player of Zidane's dimension to speak to Gareth. Good public recognition from someone who has reached the heights of the game. I have no problem with him commenting like this."
Finally AVB heaped further priase on Bale and paid his tribute to the man that has truly lit up the Premier League this season.
"There end to his awards, hopefully not," he added with a smile. "It is another recognition of the season he had, truly deserved. This is prestigious from the Football Writers' Association. It means a lot to the player and the season he had, but also for all of us and his colleagues for helping him to achieve it.
"The other players have had a joke with him this week, but this will not go to his head. You see the way he thanked his players for letting him achieve those awards. He goes into a select group who has won both awards in the same year and it is wonderful for him recognise his colleagues at a moment when he is recognised as a individual."
So ok I did bring in the full quotes from AVB's latest interview, however I think that it is important that our fans realise that the club, the manager and the player has no intentions of parting company anytime soon.
Yes Zizou and Madrid are doing their best to tap the player up and I am sure they have attempted to do their best to arrange some kind of meet up, but the situation is this;
Bale is happy and came out saying this himself. Under Redknapp Bale begun to blossom and show why we bought him in the first place, however it was in just one year that AVB has helped the player to turn into a game changer, a goal getter and someone for the team to rely on. Bale is not stupid and has seen that he is without a doubt playing under the best manager in his career so far and loving the club and its fan's its no surprise that he has rubbished the reports and rumours.
I know that we can never get rid of the tapping up issues within the game and I know that our club like all the others has done it, but when clubs do it so publically it upsets me. Thank god Bale has a wise old head on him!
